PGSF to Dispense $527k in Scholarships for 2021–2022 Academic Year

The Total Marks the Highest Amount Awarded in 20 Years

Pittsburgh, PA — August 10, 2021 — The Print and Graphic Scholarship Foundation announces that it is distributing $527,000 in scholarships to 185 recipients for the 2021–2022 academic year. This marks the highest amount awarded by PGSF in the past 20 years. The recipients hail from 100 colleges, technical schools, and universities across the United States. PGSF scholarship recipients take courses in graphic arts and imaging technology. Areas of study include graphic communications, packaging science, printing technology, visual communication, graphic design, digital media, graphic information technology, interactive design, advertising, marketing, paper and printing science, web design, production management, graphic communication management, business administration, and digital marketing. “Our judges were exhilarated that so many students are wishing to enter the graphic communications industry,” comments Jules Van Sant, Chair, PGSF. “Our organization is getting more exposure and reaching more eligible students. It’s an exciting time for PGSF and our scholarship recipients.” Since 1956, the PGSF has dispensed undergraduate college and technical school scholarships, graduate fellowship assistance, and grants. PGSF scholarships are renewable for up to four years. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better and remain enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) in the graphic communications field. “I am honored to have received the PGSF scholarship. I have been working extremely hard to do my best and succeed, and it means the world to me that the PGSF is standing behind me. I cannot say thank you enough for the opportunity, as it has helped me continue my passion for Print and Graphic Communications,” comments Kasie Nugent, who attends Clemson University in South Carolina. “Having the support of PGSF has afforded my students the opportunity to prepare for a long-term, fulfilling career in the printing industry. The support from PGSF has made further education a reality for students that may not have had the chance to attend college.
