Pittsburgh, PA – September 10, 2026 — The Foundation for Graphic Communication Education (The FGCE), a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the graphic communications industry’s future workforce through educational scholarships, is pleased to announce its scholarship awards for the 2026/27 academic year.
The FGCE awarded scholarships to 151 students enrolled at 73 universities, colleges, and technical schools across the United States. In total, $551,000 was awarded this year, with an average scholarship of more than $3,700. Seventy-six students renewed their scholarships by continuing in their programs and maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher, while 75 new full- and part-time students received first-time awards.
“Working with scholarship students is both a pleasure and a privilege,” said Debbie Bohan, Administrative Director of The FGCE. “I strive to provide support and guidance as young adults navigate post-secondary education and prepare to enter the workforce. One of the highlights of my year is notifying scholarship recipients of their renewable awards. I receive many heartfelt emails and letters of gratitude describing the impact a scholarship from The FGCE has on students, their families, and their futures. Without a doubt, the work we do changes and enriches lives, and it is an honor to play a small part in that.”
This year, The FGCE received more than 1,000 scholarship applications. “We were certainly pleased to provide the scholarships that we did, but we would be able to make an even greater impact with additional funding,” said Jeffrey White, Director of Development for The FGCE.
