Charles E. MalspeisCharles Malspeis Scholarship Established 2016

TheCharles Malspeis Memorial Scholarship was established by NOVA Pressroom Products, LLC as a memorial to Charles E. Malspeis and in recognition of the 60th anniversary year of PGSF. Charles was one of the founding partners of Nova and served as Vice President of technical services and the coating division. He directed all Nova coating research and production. With twenty years of experience at Anchor and Fujifilm Hunt Chemicals, he became known throughout the ink and coatings industry as the innovator of today's specialty aqueous and UV coatings. Backed by a BS in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati, Chuck designed compatible coatings for today’s inks. He was dedicated to serving his customers and guiding printers to practical solutions for production challenges. Chuck lost his life in a tragic drowning accident in June 2011, at the age of 47. The scholarship provides the opportunity for students who are pursuing a course of study in graphic arts with the opportunity to enhance their education. This is a meaningful way to invest in the industry's future workforce. The endowment is open for further contributions and additional companies, friends, and associates of Chuck are encouraged to add to the fund. The Charles Malspeis Memorial Scholarship is part of our Print Heritage group of endowments comprised of members that have made a gift commitment of $25,000 – $49,000.
